Subgrid-Scale Modeling for Remeshed Vortex Methods

In this study, we evaluate various Large Eddy Simulation (LES) models applied to turbulent flows in the framework of remeshed or semi-Lagrangian Vortex Methods. The models are tested on the Taylor Green Vortex and the decay of homogeneous isotropic turbulence. We find a good performance when applying the Smagorinsky model to the smallest resolved scales of the vorticity field.
