摘要

Esophageal cancer is the sixth leading cause of cancer-related mortality globally because of its high malignant potential and poor prognosis. The relationship between infections and development of esophageal cancer was evaluated previously. The results show that bacterial derangement plays an important role in the emergence of cancers such as esophageal cancers. It has been suggested that the microbiome contributes to gastroesophageal reflux and esophageal adenocarcinoma by inducing chronic inflammation and gastroesophageal reflux. Mucins are thought to have potential roles in the development of epithelial malignancies through their role in bacterial control and regulation of inflammation. It is thought that infectious agents may be effective in the pathogenesis due to the formation of mucin. In this study, we aimed to determine the role of infections at development of esophageal cancer and post-diagnostic infections associated with esophageal cancer.
