摘要

There are some occasions where the stomach cannot be used as a replacement after esophagectomy for malignant esophageal tumors due to previous surgery or technical issues. In this case, gastrointestinal continuity can be maintained by replacing the esophagus with a segment of the right colon, left colon, or small intestine. In this chapter, we explain and discuss the pros and cons of such procedures and how they are performed, along with their technical details and complications.
