Phantasmagoria

This theory of phantasmagoria is a model which presents the structure and process of creating images and events in one’s mind, or in other words, imagining and fantasizing. The chapter first defines its three main terms: phantasmagoria, imagination, and fantasy. The types of phantasmagoria are established based on imagination and fantasy and their main characteristics in the creation process. Other relevant aspects of phantasmagoria are the plot and the characters – these concepts and terms will be presented and analyzed through examples. This model aims to present the structure and process of creating and transforming images from reality and subconscious thoughts into one’s imagination and fantasy, thus showing a prototype for literary and non-literary writing and expression.
