Risk Factors, Health Status, and Risk Groups in Suboptimal Health Condition
摘要
SHS, or suboptimal health status, is a condition between health and disease brought on by a person’s physical, psychological, and social stress. The leading underlying cause of SHS is yet unknown. For example, the endocrine and immune systems can cause physical, mental, and social functions to get worse. Changes in the body’s physical and psychological state reduce its coordination and make it work less well. The body has not yet progressed to the illness stage, though. SHS is linked to several long-term illnesses, such as fatigue, headaches, vertigo, depression, anxiety, loss of appetite, inability to sleep, and problems with functioning. Also, the digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory, and urinary systems, as well as other organ systems, can have short-term or long-term adverse effects on health, as can pain that doesn’t seem to come from one place. SHS also harms health care costs, frequency of visits, and quality of life. Lifestyle factors significantly impact social, mental, and physical SHS. So, SHS is often linked to the start of chronic diseases. Risk factors for SHS include smoking, drinking, skipping breakfast, eating an unbalanced diet, not getting enough exercise and having trouble sleeping. The PPPM model can screen the SHS, estimate illness risk, and provide individualised interventions. This strategy makes a big difference in how medicine works because it allows doctors to stop or delay the onset of many diseases.
