Conclusions
摘要
The research described in the book was concerned with the disambiguation of polysemous strings in speech. The types of polysemous strings selected for the purposes of the pilot study discussed in Gwóźdź (2017) and for the present experiment involved nine ditropic pairs, five restrictive and non–restrictive relative clauses, and six quoted versus unquoted strings (limited to two words). While the experiment was conducted in highly–controlled laboratory conditions and was based on a reading task, it was argued that the results were not invalidated by the experimental setup–on the contrary, cited evidence from the literature indicated that the detected acoustic cues are, most probably, amplified in spontaneous speech.
