Safety and the Environment
摘要
Natural gas, crude oils, and their products are flammable, even explosive. Fugitive chemicals and wastes are also of concern in upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. Safety in operations is important and requires constant attention. In this chapter, the history of environmental and safety regulations are discussed, and several major incidents are described. Hopefully, lessons from these incidents will prevent future occurrence of similar incidents.
