The Model for Fostering a Sense of Belonging
摘要
This chapter critically analyses and discusses findings from the interviews before suggesting a model for fostering a sense of belonging in multi-racial churches such as the CofE. As highlighted earlier, semi-structured interviews were used to collect the data reported in this chapter. Six members of the Black Clergy were interviewed, and the conversations were recorded and then transcribed to allow these narratives to be analysed and presented in a way which is clear. There is an exception in this study, in that one of the conversations was not recorded, since the participant had indicated an unwillingness to be interviewed, but later divulged information of interest to this study. Therefore, at the termination of the unstructured interview, l made notes and produced a summary of what had been said after receiving consent from him. In addition, the participants were invited to re-engage with the transcripts during the course of the data analysis, as part of ensuring that l had interpreted them correctly.
