How Urban Morphology Affects Energy Consumption and Building Energy Loads? Strategies Based on Urban Ventilation

摘要

Climate change leads to significant challenges for the world, as it increases health risks. It also has a significant influence on the performance and energy consumption of buildings and the prevalence of urban heat islands (UHI). However, how urban morphology contributes to reducing energy consumption within a building. In this context, this study presents strategies to reduce the high energy consumption inside the building based on urban strategies. This study presents an in-depth review of the primary characteristics that influence building energy use at the urban scale. A bibliometric analysis based on VOSviewer tool within the scope of urban morphology, and building energy, from the first published article in 1981 to 2023, is conducted. The proposed matrix is accomplished to analyze the relationship of the various urban passive strategies and their impact on the internal energy of the building, with their classification and identification of their importance under various climatic regions and buildings’ heights.
