摘要

Various methods of treating industrial wastewater are undergoing rapid scientific advancement. In this study, methods of wastewater treatment using adsorption process were discussed in detail. An overview of the major environmental treatment technologies and their applications in industrial wastewater treatment were investigated. The removal of several pollutants that are found to both humans and the environment has been proven to be removed successful with fly ash. Fly ash was successful in simultaneously removing organic matter (COD), color, and organic compounds including phenol, and heavy metals from industrial effluent. Less environmental issues may result from the inexpensive adsorbent. Economic growth at plants could also be anticipated. Detailed comparison study between batch and fixed bed adsorption process were discussed. The specific surface area of fly ash can be varied between 2500 and 7000 cm2/g.
