Assessment and Treatment Planning in Autistic Adults
摘要
The transition from adolescence to adulthood can be particularly challenging for autistic individuals as support services are much less widely available. Without appropriate support, autistic individuals may have difficulty meeting the unique demands of adulthood. Comprehensive psychological assessments can be a critically helpful starting point for autistic adults and their families. Comprehensive evaluations that are multidisciplinary, that consider complex differential diagnoses, and that assess a variety of skills are important for identifying areas of strength, support needs, and recommendations for treatment planning. In this chapter, we provide a summary of important considerations and recommendations for assessment and treatment planning in autistic adults.
