The Variety of Learning Factory Concepts

A single learning factory can represent the complex reality of a production company only partly. When setting up a learning factory, it is to be decided which part of reality will be represented in the learning environment. But which different facets of the learning factory orientation can be distinguished in this context? In this chapter, the possible dimensions of a learning factory are presented, and the variety of learning factories is mapped in a morphology as a multi-dimensional description model. Briefly, a learning factory database is presented in Sect. 5.9 that allows the systematisation of learning factories around the globe using the morphology. Finally, Sect.  7.2.3 discusses the success factors of the different variations of learning factories.
