Recess in a Learning Landscape: An Opportunity for the Development of Democratic Skills

For Patio Vivo, a democratic education means creating a learning environment that welcomes each member of the school community. We accept and celebrate personal differences between each one of the students, as we want to provide them with freedom and confidence to play, navigate, and explore the world around them, according to their interests and abilities. In this way, children build their learning through play and contact with nature, which we believe to be the foundation of a healthy and happy childhood.
