Introduction: Sustainability as an Acme of Quality Assurance in Higher Education

This chapter spells out an overview of this book whose prospects are on the sustainability of higher education (HE) in Africa within the perspectives of quality assurance (QA). It presents a preamble based on the variables and makes a summation of each chapter in the order arranged as per the sub-theme depicted herein as “parts”—namely, curriculum and teaching in higher education (seven chapters) and higher education and innovations (seven chapters). Adjacently highlighted are the context, uniqueness and major contribution of this compendium, as well as the lessons drawn for and/or from continental Africa.
