摘要

Lower extremity injury and joint pain can significantly impair the ability to ambulate and affect an individual’s quality of life. The utilization of joint injections has increased in recent years due to the continually aging population. The utilization of fluoroscopy and ultrasound allowed these procedures to be done accurately, precisely, and with an increased margin of safety. When chosen for the appropriate patient, injections to the hip, knee, and ankle joints can provide symptomatic relief and possibly postpone or avoid surgery in certain cases. Managing expectations, decreasing potential side effects, and understanding complications are paramount to the success of these interventional procedures.
