Comparative Summary

This chapter compares the results of the contributions from Part III of the handbook. Following an overview of the manifestation of the presence of Political Islam in the countries and regions examined, the aspects (1) actors, (2) means and goals, (3) impact, and (4) policy recommendations serve as a “lens” through which the phenomenon of Political Islam is viewed. The aim is to bring the individual findings together to form an overall picture and to find any patterns in the spread and application of Political Islam in Europe that can be used as a basis for a social, scientific, and political debate on the subject.
