What Huygens Could Have Written on Diffraction

This is a highly speculative chapter. As far as we know Huygens never said or wrote anything on diffraction. Yet Huygens’ principle is perfectly fit for the modeling of diffraction phenomena and it had a very strong imprint on the historical development of diffraction theory.
