摘要

The Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA) is a NICE-recommended individual therapy with carer involvement. MANTRA is based on a cognitive-interpersonal model. It is formulation-based and manualized, delivered as a stand-alone treatment over 20–30 individual weekly sessions, depending on illness severity. A patient workbook is used flexibly to structure and support the therapy. An associated carer booklet is also available. Here we describe the development and underpinning model of MANTRA and the key elements of the therapy. The available evidence supporting MANTRA and adaptations for different patient groups and different settings are also outlined. As a relatively new therapy, MANTRA continues to evolve in an iterative process based on lived experience, clinical expertise, and new research findings.
