摘要

We have compiled this edited collection to provide an evidence-based perspective on what it means to protect children and young people from harm online, while also upholding their participatory and provision rights. We focus specifically on the UK context, given claims by the UK government that they are introducing tough new measures to make the country ‘the safest place in the world to be online’ (Department for Culture Media and Sport, 2017). Online harms are, of course, of global concern, and we hope this collection stimulates further intellectual and applied engagement with the topic, including comparative analyses of how online harms are being addressed across jurisdictions and transnationally.
