An Insight into the Behavior of Tech-Savvy Millennial Travelers: A Global Perspective
摘要
The twentieth century saw technology usher in a new era of communication, making it possible to reach people and places in no time. Moreover, just like any other industry, the tourism industry is taking advantage of this technological revolution to attract millennial travelers. To cater to the preferences of these travelers, the industry is striving to offer eco-friendly, sustainable, personalized, and friendly service. By offering attractive deals and discounts, the industry is leveraging the power of the internet to draw in millennials. Social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are particularly important for this generation, as they have grown up in a tech-driven world and are often obsessed with their mobile devices. Eighty-three percent of millennials sleep with their phones next to them, according to the Pew Research Center. The tourism industry is rapidly changing due to advancements in technology and the evolving preferences of millennials. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the contemporary trends and behaviors of tech-savvy millennial travelers to develop policies and strategies that cater to their needs in the global tourism industry. The primary objective of this study is to provide insights into the current trends and behaviors of tech-savvy millennial travelers and to propose policies and strategies that can address their needs in the global tourism industry. This study is primarily theoretical and draws on a range of secondary sources, including research papers, books, reports, and magazines, to achieve its objectives. The study analyzes the existing literature on the topic to identify the current trends and behaviors of millennial travelers. The findings of the study reveal that a significant proportion of millennial travelers are no longer interested in the traditional “sun, sea, and sand” holidays that were popular with earlier generations. Instead, they seek out culturally rich destinations and unique, memorable experiences. The study also emphasizes the importance of using diverse travel content to appeal to millennials, and tourism businesses need to adjust their content marketing strategies based on feedback from this demographic.
