Valvular Assessment: Mitral and Aortic Valves
摘要
Evaluation of the mitral and aortic valves is easily accomplished with the use of transthoracic echocardiography. Identification of valvular pathology in the intensive care unit can narrow a differential diagnosis and change the plan of care. Using color flow, continuous wave, and pulsed wave Doppler in conjunction with standard two-dimensional echocardiography, these valves can quickly and effectively be evaluated.
