摘要

This work focuses on the modelling of deep groove bearings under the multibody systems dynamics approach. The components of the bearing (inner and outer rings, rolling elements, and cage) are treated as separate bodies and two different modelling approaches are employed to define the interactions between them. The characterization of the contact/impact phenomena is described through a smooth contact approach, which allows versatile and efficient monitoring of the whole contact process. These elements stand out by their complexity, as multiple contact events of different natures take place simultaneously. The models presented have been previously developed in a 2D environment, but this time will be adapted to a 3D one. Different issues have arisen during this conversion process, which are subsequently discussed. The simulations performed have shown that the accurate selection of the modelling parameters significantly impacts the outcomes obtained. The results generated are promising and set the path for a future verification process.
