Contributions to the Geometric Synthesis of the Windshield Wiper Mechanism with Rocker-Slider Blade
摘要
The paper deals with geometric synthesis of the windshield wiper mechanism with rocker-slider blade. The novelty consists in the presentation of an optimum synthesis method of the planar bar mechanism in two variants for the wiper blade driving. The first proposed variant is using a triadic kinematic chain instead of the arrangements with two dyadic chains which are already proposed in literature. Unlike the dyadic chain where the tip of the first rocker traces an arc, the trajectory of the similar point in the case of the triad is a sixth degree (hexic) coupler curve. The second analyzed variant is a tetradic linkage where the geometry implies writing the vector equations of the two independent closed contours. The advantage of this variant used on passenger motor vehicle is that it offers optimum transmitting angles. Moreover, a displacement analytical calculation of the kinematic elements has been achieved. In the end of the paper the wiping surface of the blade by means of a laboratory testing device is obtained at a real scale.
