Open-Source Web System for Veterinary Management: A Case Study of OSCRUM

Nowadays, even though technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, companies still carry out part of their management without using a computer system. Most veterinaries keep track of their pets’ medical records manually. Therefore, an open-source web system called SysVet has been proposed to support veterinaries’ management in administering pet health records. The Systematic Mapping Studying (SMS) methodology was used to search for relevant information, and the OSCRUM methodology was used to carry out the development process of the open-source web system, which has allowed the organization and timely fulfill the system requirements. It can be concluded that the use of the OSCRUM methodology has allowed for obtaining favorable results in terms of fulfilling the tasks for the implementation of the SysVet web system.
