The Laplace Transform

The (two-sided or bilateral) Laplace transform of a general time-domain signal \(f(t)\) is defined as \(F\left(s\right)={\int }_{-\infty }^{+\infty }f\left(t\right){e}^{-st}dt\) . Variable \(s\) is a complex variable and can be written as \(s=\sigma +j\omega \) . This chapter shows how Laplace and inverse Laplace transforms can be calculated with the aid of MATLAB.
