Solar Energy Systems
摘要
Solar energy systems have been employed as the oldest forms of renewable energy in the world since ancient times. There were some early usages of the initial energy storage applications through hot water storage for later use. With its photovoltaic, thermal, photochemical, and biochemical applications, today's solar energy is considered as one of the most well-known and mature sustainable energy sources. There are a variety of uses for them across various sectors. Throughout this chapter, we introduce and discuss the basics of solar energy and what it can do for humanity. Solar irradiation reaching the world is discussed regarding its global potential and how it can be used to meet the demands of people. An overview of solar energy applications with brief information about each of them is also presented in this chapter.
