A Tale Of Two Menaces

Having shown how the unified catalogue of transmedia character components can be used to analyse Doctor Doom, another smaller case study is conducted to show how it could be deployed more widely. This is based on a smaller corpus of texts concerning the American and British characters who share the name Dennis The Menace, with examples taken from each decade since their creation in 1938. The results demonstrate significant differences between the two characters and the cultures from which they emerged.
