Development of Incheon Airport Indoor AR Wayfinding Based on 3D Spatial Information
摘要
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest in developing indoor navigation services based on augmented reality due to the remarkable development of the fourth industrial technology. In response to this trend, Incheon International Airport has developed an AR-based indoor wayfinding service to address the inconvenience that many passengers face in reaching their desired destinations due to the airport’s vast size. Particularly, the airport has applied VPS (Visual Positioning System) technology targeting passenger terminals and indoor boarding gates that are vulnerable to GPS signal transmission. Incheon Airport has utilized its 3D scanning robot called Air-RoP to build a virtual replica of the airport and provides personalized indoor navigation service to passengers.
