Intelligent Control (Management) for Technology Transfer to Have Best Smart City Performance

Technology Transfer (TT) viewed as a key element in the response to climate change risks to improve the smart city requirements. The UNFCC includes the transfer of Environmentally Sound Technologies (ESTs) as part of North–South collaboration. Besides, the UNFCC defines specific measures to support technology transfer between industrial and developing countries. Technology transfer and transitions to green technology play a key role in addressing climate change challenges in Bahrain smart city. This transition requires action across the technology cycle and the socio-technical regime since there are a variety of technological solutions to address climate change risks to deal with smart city requirements. To respond to the interlinked risks of climate change, a shift in energy policy to address climate change risks includes the adoption of appropriate technology transfer model and a sound policy for technology acquisition and diffusion. Technical change takes place through a conventional journey of innovation, which includes R&D, demonstration, and deployment with the aim to deliver “development dividends”. Technology Transfer Models for Better Smart City Performance and Barriers for Technology Transfer in having better smart city performance are discussed.
