Compact Binoculars
摘要
As fond as I’ve become of pocket binoculars, they’re not my favorite format. These would be the next size class up – the so-called compact binocular class featuring objective diameters of 30–35 mm. For many people, including yours truly, this class of binocular offer more immersive views but at the expense of being a bit heavier – typically 450–650 g – so still light enough to carry pretty much anywhere. Because these larger aperture binoculars have greater light gathering power with larger exit pupils, they offer an easier view; easier to line up with one’s eyes, and greater versatility, being capable of being used in lower light conditions that would preclude using pocket binoculars, such as under a thick forest canopy or during dawn or dust, when details are more difficult to see clearly.
