Earth and Sky

We live in very uncertain times, with wars, famines and pestilence never far from our thoughts. The Covid pandemic has wreaked havoc with countless millions of people across the world, economies decimated, and whole ways of life destroyed. Watching the news brings nothing but misery, as we see whole nations struggling to make ends meet amid an energy crisis of gargantuan proportions. It’s all too easy to feel helpless and overwhelmed by all the events in the human world but for me, binoculars have given me a new lease of life, a vehicle to rise above the drudgery of the workaday world, to seek out beautiful, wild and quiet places unscathed by human calamity.
