Sustainable Logistics Management: An Introductory Overview
摘要
Consumers are the primary drivers of green product purchases. Suppliers are on the other side of the market, offering green products at reasonable prices. It is critical to select suppliers based on sustainability criteria to achieve sustainable supply chain goals. Environmental and social factors should be considered too. The logistics pipeline is the management of physical, information, and monetary flows to create value for customers through the collaboration of various logistics actors. Transportation mode, vehicle selection, and fuel type can all have an impact on logistics sustainability. Sustainable planning, raw material procurement, production, distribution, and recycling are all integral parts of a green supply chain. Companies that have green logistics are those that design and create their goods using sustainable methods and resources (such as products made from recycled materials, eco-friendly substances, more environmentally friendly packaging, etc.). Choose partners that adopt eco-friendly practices in their manufacturing and distribution processes and collaborate with them to implement these measures. In this chapter, the various aspects of sustainable logistics including green sourcing, transportation, and packaging are discussed. An introduction to a multi-criteria decision approach with application in supplier selection is also provided.
