Entrepreneurial Intention Among Engineering Students: Focus on Entrepreneurial Motivation

This study observed a social phenomenon reflecting perceived career options, personal attitude, and entrepreneurial motivation induce entrepreneurial intention among engineering students. The conceptual framework was drawn upon the entrepreneurial event model and theory of planned behavior. In this study, a mass survey was conducted among engineering students from several universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Structural equation modeling was utilized to test the conceptual framework. It reveals the significantly positive causal relationship between personal attitude and entrepreneurial intention and the significantly positive relationship between entrepreneurial motivation and entrepreneurial intention. This study may send implications for entrepreneurial practice for engineering students, research limitations, and avenues for further studies.
