The End … but not Game Over
摘要
This chapter concludes the book. The author reiterates their central argument, reflects on how it unfolds in each chapter, and considers their own place in a progressively virtualized society. Additionally, the chapter contains substantial—though by no means exhaustive—lists of relevant books, television series, and films that warrant attention in future scholarship. As this chapter indicates, the production and consumption of cyberpunk—in all forms of media—is rapidly growing as society becomes increasingly preoccupied by what it means to be human in a world where physicality is seemingly obsolete. The author maintains, however, that as this book demonstrates, the bodymind remains. Consequently, for those communities who are more vulnerable, like the disabled, it is essential that efforts be made to cultivate more inclusive worlds.
