The Political Economy of the Commodified, the Familiarist, and the Hybrid Welfare States

  • Ilán Bizberg

摘要

In this chapter, we will discuss the socio-political conformations and dynamics that have given rise and maintained the welfare states that depend most on the market and those that rely on individuals and their families, but, evidently, also on the market, as individuals and families acquire health services from private providers and pharmacies. In addition, we will analyze the situation of two countries we have called real hybrids: Mexico and Colombia.
