Acupuncture: It’s Relationship to Recovery, Regeneration and Function
摘要
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years not only for internal disorders according to Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, but also for musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain management. However, in more recent times many practitioners have embraced a more western science-based approach to rehabilitation. Practitioners are utilizing muscle motor points and trigger points with attention being made to associated spinal segments and nerve plexes, myotendinous junctions and ligaments. Acupuncture’s relationship to recovery, regeneration and improved functional movement goes beyond the tradition of points on meridians.
