Monitoring of Sedation and Sleep in Intensive Care Unit

After a profound, albeit incomplete, evolution in the field of anesthesia monitoring and management in the operating room through the use of new instruments for the analysis of frontal brain electrical activity (processed electroencephalography [pEEG]), the concept of neurological monitoring of critical patients is being looked at from new clinical and diagnostic–therapeutic perspectives.
