Production, Resiniferous Plants, Chemistry, and Therapeutical Uses of Tetragonula biroi (Friese, 1898) Propolis from the Philippines
摘要
Tetragonula biroi is the most widespread species of stingless bee in the Philippines. It is reared by stingless beekeepers. A coco-tech has been developed for sustainable meliponaries in coconut farms. The chemical composition and therapeutic properties of propolis from the Philippine T. biroi were reviewed. Propolis production, identification of resin resources, chemistry research, and therapeutic applications of T. biroi propolis in the Philippines are essential to developing meliponiculture, apitherapy, and conservation programs.
