Propolis of Vietnamese Stingless Bees: Chemistry and Plant Origin
摘要
Data on the chemical composition of propolis from Vietnamese Tetragonula minor, Lepidotrigona ventralis, Lisotrigona cacciae, and L. furva, the only stingless bees studied in this respect in Vietnam, were reviewed. Their chemical profiles revealed source plants: Mangifera indica (Anacardiaceae) in all tested bee samples and several other plant species. Lisotrigona furva and L. cacciae used three plant sources each. The chemistry, resin sources, and bioactivity of stingless bee propolis in Vietnam are of importance both for conservation purposes and for meliponiculture.
