Simulation-Driven Design of High-Frequency Structures

The chapter addresses mathematical formulation of simulation-driven design of high-frequency structures. In particular, it defines some of the common design tasks, including local and global optimization, multi-criterial design, surrogate modeling, as well as uncertainty quantification. It also introduces the notation and terminology utilized in this context, such as the system responses, parameter space, objective function, constraints, etc. The discussion is accompanied by representative examples.
