Basic Transthoracic of Echocardiography
摘要
Echocardiography has become one of the techniques of choice used by physicians in the evaluation of the hemodynamic status of patients, notably in the context of critical care, emergency, and perioperative medicine. This extensive use is the result of multiple factors: nonharmful and repetitive technique, reproducibility in the same and between operators, and short time consumption to get impactful information; furthermore, the recent scientific advances in information technology and data treatment allow the use of the newest modality of imaging and Doppler like 3D (three dimensional), tissue Doppler imaging (TDI), strain, and strain rate. However, the learning curve and ultrasound machine availability are the two factors that limit the overspread of the technique.
