摘要

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has become a valuable adjunct to physical examination in recent years and is integrated into routine practice by many medical specialties. Patients with kidney problems can suffer from a wide variety of medical conditions, and POCUS can quickly identify structural or functional abnormalities, personalize fluid management, and guide bedside interventions. Important clinical findings such as hydronephrosis, renal stones, renal cysts, and renal tumors can be easily detected by bedside ultrasound. Potential benefits of POCUS include the evaluation of critically ill patients with acute kidney injury (AKI). POCUS has the potential to become an indispensable tool in nephrology.
