An Unconventional Application: The CP as a Signal Amplifier

This chapter introduces the original and unconventional use of the CP as an amplifier. The aim was to extend the use of the CP in all those applications where a time-variant signal has to be amplified with its DC component above the positive power supply rail, such as NMOS LDOs or drivers for piezoelectric devices for ultrasound imaging. This innovative approach, thanks to the merging operation, allows a potential saving of power consumption and area occupation.
