Variants and Evolutions of the Dickson CP Topology
摘要
In the previous chapter, we have focused on the Dickson CP topology with ideal switches. However, real CPs differ substantially for the way the switches are implemented. In this chapter, the main Dickson CP topologies are presented. In particular, after a general introduction on the original topologies and the classification of typical strategies to drive the two control terminals of a MOS (i.e., gate and/or bulk) used as a switch, these approaches and topologies are presented and discussed in detail. Then, the double CPs are discussed that include the very common latched CP, the adiabatic CP, and the topologies with an adaptive number of stages. The chapter ends with a section dealing with the comparison of different topologies and another section regarding the regulation techniques of CPs.
