Integrated Charge Pump Basics

This chapter introduces the Dickson CP and its main design strategies. In particular, after a simplified analysis, which has the aim of explaining the behavior and the potentiality of this kind of circuit, the key CP parameters are presented, and simple circuit models are derived and discussed. Finally, two optimized design procedures for two different load conditions, one with a current load and another with a pure capacitive load only, are derived, discussed, and compared in detail.
