摘要

There are things that are considered important to be preserved for future generations. These can be objects that can be preserved or buildings that can be explored, songs that can be sung or stories that can be told. No matter what shape they take, these things are part of a heritage, and this heritage requires an active effort on our part to protect it. The heritage of a nation is essential for its identity and for the values to be transfered from one generation to another. It includes both material things: clothing, books, tools, constructions, and intangibles ones. The present paper aims at a sustainable capitalization of the cultural heritage as a factor of impelling the local development for the Iași community. Iasi represents one of the most important cities in Romania, which was the capital between 1916 and 1918 accommodating several monuments. In the last 10 years, significant funds started to be invested by the authorities in building rehabilitation. From these works, the paper presents the rehabilitation project for the Museum “Saint Hierarch Dosoftei Mitropolitul”, which led to the revitalization of the cultural-historical and tourist potential by: highlighting the objective of restored heritage to European standards and increasing the number of visitors by 5.56% for the first year of operation.
