Laboratory Determination of Cement Consumption by Tube a Manchette Grouting on Building Sites in the Cities of Pernik and Sofia, Bulgaria

The tube a manchette (TAM) grouting is widely used in Bulgaria for soil strengthening under existing buildings. For fine-grained soil, the method is not always applicable. This paper presents the use of a laboratory testing device for determining the cement consumption by low-pressure grouting on two sites. The first site, located near the town of Pernik, Bulgaria, is a house with significant settlements. The second site is the Medical University library building in Sofia. The results of the tests were used for evaluating the efficiency of the TAM methods in specific soil conditions and for forecasting the consumption of grouting cement.
