摘要

This concluding chapter stresses the broader significance of The Burnt City as a key cultural output of twenty-twenties British theatre. It summarises the overall contribution of Punchdrunk on the Classics and foregrounds the significance of three of my central claims alongside the future directions in which others might take them. Although the role of the classics within Punchdrunk’s future practice is unknown, my book has shown that ancient literature holds unparalleled significance within Punchdrunk’s past and is integral to understanding the company’s approach to fostering immersion. In The Burnt City and beyond, antiquity has proven crucial to immersivity.
