Case Examples of Advanced 3D Printing in Hospitals and Medical Centers
摘要
3D printing has significant value in planning and executing complex oncologic resections and other procedures. Virtual surgical planning (VSP), 3D printed guides, and custom 3D printed implants are used before and during the surgery, respectively. One theme of this book is the expansion of 3D printing as a hospital-based clinical service line, and thus the transition from centralized industry-based manufacturing to distributed manufacturing at the point of care in health care facilities. This chapter uses two case examples from in-hospital medical imaging segmentation through VSP, including the design and manufacturing of sterilizable 3D printed osteotomy surgical guides in the 3D printing lab at the Mayo Clinic.
