Creating a Percutaneous Arteriovenous Fistula: Evidence and Techniques
摘要
Two percutaneous arteriovenous fistula devices were recently introduced into the previously stagnant field of hemodialysis access. Ellipsys™ and WaveLinQ™ offered additional potential anatomic access sites and minimally invasive and geometrically improved arteriovenous fistula options. The devices have distinct anatomic requirements, mechanisms of action and techniques for placement. While both devices have a learning curve to be conquered both procedurally and in terms of outpatient access of percutaneously created fistulas, early results are promising for both devices in terms of technical success and patency. Late results are sparse but encouraging.
